GiveWP Integration Add-on

The GiveWP Integration Add-on connects PlanetStudio Payment Gateway with GiveWP, allowing donation websites to accept payments through Armenian banks and payment systems.

This add-on enables secure and reliable bank payments directly from GiveWP donation forms.

Supported features include:

Requirements

Before using the GiveWP add-on you must install:

  • PlanetStudio Payment Gateway (Core)
  • GiveWP plugin
  • PlanetStudio GiveWP Integration Add-on

GiveWP Currency Switcher is optional and is required only when using the AMD conversion mode.

Installation

  1. Install and activate:
PlanetStudio Payment Gateway
PlanetStudio GiveWP Integration Add-on
  1. Activate the add-on license:
WordPress Admin → PSPG → Add-ons
  1. Configure the banks in PSPG settings.

Enabling PSPG in GiveWP

  1. Go to:
GiveWP → Settings → Payment Gateways
  1. Enable:
PlanetStudio Payment Gateway
  1. Save settings.

After enabling the gateway it becomes available in donation forms.

Using PSPG in Donation Forms

  1. Open a donation form in:
GiveWP → Donation Forms
  1. Edit the form.
  2. Enable PlanetStudio Payment Gateway as a payment option.

Donors will now be able to select PSPG during checkout.

Payment Flow

Donation payment process:

  1. Donor fills the donation form
  2. Donor selects PlanetStudio Payment Gateway
  3. Donor chooses a bank
  4. If AMD conversion is enabled, the add-on converts the donation amount before creating the PSPG payment
  5. Donor is redirected to the bank payment page
  6. Donor reviews the actual payment amount and completes the payment
  7. Bank redirects back to the website
  8. Donation status is synchronized with the bank

Donation status in GiveWP is updated automatically.

Available banks depend on which banks are enabled in:

WordPress Admin → PSPG → Settings

Multi-Currency Support

The GiveWP Integration Add-on supports two payment currency modes.

You can select the preferred mode in:

GiveWP → Settings → Payment Gateways → PS Gateway

Use the currency selected by the donor

This is the default mode.

The donation amount and currency selected by the donor are sent directly to PSPG. The selected bank and merchant credentials must support that currency.

For example, if the donor selects USD, the payment request is sent to the bank in USD.

Convert donations to AMD before sending to PSPG

This optional mode allows currencies in GiveWP Currency Switcher to be used as display currencies while the actual PSPG payment is processed in AMD.

Requirements:

  • GiveWP Currency Switcher must be installed and active
  • Currency Switcher must be enabled for the donation form
  • The GiveWP base currency must be AMD
  • A valid exchange rate must be available for the selected currency
  • The selected PSPG bank must be configured to accept AMD payments

Payment flow:

  1. The donor selects a currency such as USD, EUR, or RUB.
  2. GiveWP displays the converted donation amounts in that currency.
  3. The donor selects a donation amount and continues to payment.
  4. The add-on uses the GiveWP Currency Switcher exchange rate to calculate the corresponding AMD amount.
  5. PSPG sends the payment request to the bank in AMD.
  6. The bank payment page displays the actual AMD amount before the donor confirms the payment.

The GiveWP donation remains recorded in the currency selected by the donor. The corresponding PSPG Order records the actual amount and currency sent to the bank.

Example:

  • Amount displayed to the donor: 1.38 USD
  • Amount sent to PSPG: 501.82 AMD

If the donor uses a card issued in another currency, the card issuer may convert the AMD transaction using its own exchange rate. The final amount shown on the card statement may therefore differ slightly from the amount displayed in GiveWP.

This conversion mode currently applies to one-time donations. Recurring donations continue to use their existing payment currency flow.

If GiveWP Currency Switcher is not active for the donation, the add-on does not perform conversion and uses the donation currency normally.

Tip: Configure sufficient decimal precision for exchange rates in GiveWP Currency Switcher. Small rates such as AMD to USD may appear as 0.00 when only two decimal places are used.

Donation Tracking

All donation payments are recorded in PSPG Orders.

You can view them here:

WordPress Admin → PSPG → Orders

Information available:

  • donation ID
  • payment status
  • bank used
  • actual amount sent to the bank
  • actual payment currency sent to the bank
  • API logs

When AMD conversion is enabled, the GiveWP donation may be displayed in the donor-selected currency while the related PSPG Order is recorded in AMD.

Payment Statuses

Donation payments may have the following statuses:

Statuses are synchronized automatically with the bank.

Troubleshooting

Donation status not updated

Possible reasons:

  • bank callback not received
  • incorrect bank credentials
  • bank test mode configuration

You can manually sync the payment status from PSPG Orders.

Payment declined

Reasons may include:

  • insufficient funds
  • bank security checks
  • expired card
  • the selected payment currency is not supported by the merchant credentials

If the payment is sent in the donor-selected currency, verify that the bank credentials support that currency. Donors should contact their bank when the decline is related to the card or issuer.

Currency conversion unavailable

If the donation is not converted to AMD, verify that:

  • Convert donations to AMD before sending to PSPG is selected
  • GiveWP Currency Switcher is active
  • Currency Switcher is enabled for the donation form
  • GiveWP base currency is AMD
  • a valid exchange rate is configured for the selected currency
